Carrom Board is an indie music project based in Paris, France & New York, USA. Created in 2020 by Prashant Ramesh, Carrom Board brings together myriad influences ranging from 60s psychedelic rock to 90s hip hop to South Asian diasporic music. The result is classic rock songwriting with modern bedroom pop production. Fans have likened the style to that of Steve Lacy, Mac DeMarco, and Tame Impala, to name a few. Carrom Board’s debut EP Window Fog was released in 2020. Since then, they have released music garnering over 100k streams, and recently played sold-out shows at Mercury Lounge, The Delancey, Chelsea Music Hall in NYC. Carrom Board also produces and engineers for other artists, recently working on dilip’s single “Lemon Tart” and SHWIN’s debut album Growing Pains. Their debut album, Superposition, was released in June 2024.
Prashant has been musically-inclined since childhood, having been exposed to piano and Carnatic vocal music from a young age. He was formerly the music director of Penn Masala, a world-renowned South Asian music group, where he executive produced their album Resonance and was featured in Pitch Perfect 2.
